Thursday Night
(23)Miami Hurricanes vs
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
7:30 PM ET, November 20,
2008
Bobby Dodd Stadium , Atlanta , GA
Spread: Georgia Tech -4
Miami’s new found top 25 ranking
should not be taken that seriously and the spread reflects
that. G Tech is gonna run, run, run and then run some more as
illustrated by their number 8 ranking in rush yards per game.
Sophomore RB Jonathan Dwyer has already broke the 1000 yd mark
and is averaging 6.6 yards a carry. I doubt that Miami can stop
him, maybe slow him down, but they don’t have the kind of
defense that can shut down the run. Miami QB Robert Marve is
gonna have his hands full with the GT defense and will need all
the help he can get from WR’s Aldarius Johnson and Travis
Benjamin who will need to step up and get open as the pass game
is their most effective weapon. Georgia Tech is too tough at
home and Miami nearly lost at home last week against a depleted
VT team. I don’t see them getting it done this week, take Tech
give the points.
Saturday Night
(2)Texas Tech Red
Raiders vs (5)Oklahoma Sooners
8:00 PM ET, November 22, 2008
Oklahoma Memorial Stadium , Norman , OK
Spread: Oklahoma -6
This is the Big 12 game of the
week, take a look at these stats: Sam Bradford - 3,406 yds - 38
TD’s - 6 INT’s. Graham Harrell - 4,077 yds - 36 TD’s - 5 INT’s.
These guys are unbelievable and I expect a fireworks filled
game. Oklahoma uses RB Demarco Murray more often to setup the
pass, but he is great at taking the pressure off of Bradford as
well. Harrell will be looking for his number 1 target in
Crabtree so the Sooner D will have to key on him all night which
may open things up for Lewis to get open. The winner of this
game could very well be in the BCS Championship this year as
well as affect the chances of Texas and Missouri as to which
bowls they will be eligable for. The implications surrounding
the outcome make this the most important game of the week and
expect it to be a close battle in the air. Oklahoma at home
giving less than a TD is fair spread as I stated before that
this will be an all air attack and the spreadof 7 is very
possible. Take Oklahoma give the points.
