One game, one opportunity to step into gridiron greatness. For the top two schools in the country, the BCS National Championship is their one chance to leave their mark in college football history.

The 2009 FedEx BCS National Championship Game will be hosted at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on January 8, 2009, and will feature the #1 and #2 teams as determined by the BCS Rankings to decide the BCS National Championship. Television will be handled by Fox in the USA with radio handled by ESPN Radio. Starting with the 2010 BCS Title game, ABC or ESPN will televise the game the next five years.

This marks the 19th time the Orange Bowl Committee, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, has welcomed a national champion, the most among all bowl communities. It is the first time the Committee will host two BCS bowl games in the same season, as the 75th FedEx Orange Bowl will be played one week earlier on Jan. 1, 2009, also at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Announcement of the participating teams for the 2009 FedEx BCS National Championship, as well as the 75th FedEx Orange Bowl and the three other BCS games, occurs on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, on the BCS Selection Show at 8 PM on FOX.

The 2008-09 College Bowl season will come to an exciting end when the BCS National Championship game invades Louisiana Superdome on Jan. 8, 2008 and will feature the #1 and #2 teams in the nation to decide the BCS National Championship.

After years of debate and question about a championship match-up to decide the best in NCAA football, the NCAA and the BCS have answered. 2008 will spotlight a new game to decide college football's National Champion - the BCS National Championship Game!
